- Flickering lights is a common one that could mean a loose and/or arcing connection
- A circuit breaker or breakers trip too often If more than one circuit breaker is tripping. Call your electrician now at: 407-834-4032
- If you get a direct or close lightning hit and notice any changes in your electrical system (lighting, fans, motors, etc)
- If any electrical receptacles / electrical outlets quit working that are not on a GFCI ( Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) circuit call your electrician now at: 407-834-4032
- If you ever get a shock sometimes with a low constant tingling when touching certain things
- Bad smell at a particular receptacle. Turn off that particular circuit and/or unplug anything in that room and call your electrician now at: 407-834-4032

Only about one out of ten-plus strikes is a direct hit to the house itself. More often, the hit is near the house and it tries to dissipate the extra energy through a smaller strike, called a transient voltage. This transient voltage seeks out ground rods to dissipate in deep earth, and, when the energy can’t dissipate fast enough (nanoseconds), the excess energy goes through the ground wire of the phone lines or TV lines. Depending on its need, the energy will then seek other easy paths like printed circuit boards. The whole experience is quick. Again, nanoseconds. Fortunately, its speed usually prevents overheating of most of the house wires which would otherwise start fires.
The biggest lightning losses in Florida are those related to computers, television sets, etc. Your best protection is having a well-trained technician look over your house and property and draw up a proposal to eliminate those beautiful dissipation paths. We have been trained by one of Florida’s best suppressor manufacturers.
